History Literature
Formed in 1955 as Schmidt Malaya. In 1969 Schmidt Malaya split to Schmidt Scientific Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) and Schmidt Scientific Pte Ltd (Singapore).
In July 2003, Schmidt Scientific Sdn Bhd undergone name change to Schmidt BioMedTech Sdn Bhd following Corporate business alignment into 3 major business: Electronics, Bio-medical and Marketing.

Milestones
1896 Mr. Paul Schmidt founded the first Schmidt company under the name of Schmidt Shoten in Tokyo, selling German medical and laboratory equipment in the Far East. 1911 The first China office opened in Beijing, becoming the headquarters in China. Additional branches were opened across the nation. 1931 The first Hong Kong branch opened in the most modern office building at that time. 1953 Schmidt & Co., (Hong Kong) Limited re-registered in Hong Kong, becoming head office of Schmidt Group of Companies, selling Leica camera, scientific and medical equipment in the Far East. 1960’s The Group diversified its product portfolio to electronic, industrial and computer related product lines, which now form a significant part of the Schmidt Group. 1966 The first large Vietnam project was undertaken, the total equipment supply and installation for Hai Phong Children Hospital in North Vietnam financed by “Deutche Caritas & Hilfsaktion fuer Vietnam”.
Schmidt Hong Kong’s involvement in technical assistance programs to Vietnam since 1966 was instrumental.1968 Schmidt Scientific Taiwan Ltd. established in Taipei. 1969 Acquired Schmidt Scientific (Malaya) 1971 Korea Schmidt Co., Ltd. formed in Seoul 1974 Schmidt Scientific (Malaya) was divided into the following two companies:
Schmidt Scientific (Pte) Ltd. in Singapore. Schmidt Scientific SDN. BHD in Malaysia.1976 C. V. Schmidt Mitra Indonesia formed in Jakarta. 1979 Schmidt & Co. (Hong Kong) Ltd. participated in the group’s first major Medical exhibition in PRC in Guangzhou and set up service centres in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. 1980 Electronics Scientific Engineering inaugurated in Hong Kong. 1985 TechTrend Ltd. formed in Hong Kong.
